For over two decades, Houston Press Music Hall of Famer DJ Sun has been at the forefront of Houston’s live music scene. Always with an eye on the future, his aural palette reaches across funk, soul, jazz, disco, and other genres. Now, in collaboration with Asia Society, DJ Sun looks back over four generations and more than 8,000 miles to pursue his family history from China to the West.
Who am I? Where did I come from? What is my story? Through sights and sounds, this multi-media performance responds to those questions with new music, stunning imagery, and the live energy for which DJ Sun is known.
