Presented in conjunction with "Habsburg Splendor: Masterpieces from Vienna's Imperial Collections"
This lively historical drama opens in Vienna during the conflict-ridden final months of World War II. Robert Taylor stars as Austrian Colonel Alois Podhajsky, a former Olympic equestrian. As director of the legendary Spanish Riding School, Podhajsky must devise a plan to transport the majestic Lipizzaner stallions to safety. U.S. General George S. Patton, also an accomplished equestrian, agrees to help—but not until after a command performance by the stallions.
The cast also includes Eddie Albert, James Franciscus, and Lilli Palmer, as well as the very talented Lipizzaners. Filmed on location in Austria, Miracle of the White Stallions is a Disney-produced feature presented with an authenticity that informs and entertains audience members of all ages.
