HTXDesignWeek Family NY + PlayLab

Friday, Sep. 25, 2015

06:30 PM – 08:00 PM
US/Central

CAMH is proud to host Dong-Ping Wong of Family and Archie Lee Coates IV of PlayLab Inc. for a dual lecture on their partner projects and radical work.

The two Brooklyn-based firms (which could be loosely called an architecture firm and a creative office) blend design disciplines like architecture, design, and art installations to realize their visions and (dare we say) make a splash.

Wong and Coates, with their respective companies, are co-founders of + POOL, the world’s first water-filtering floating pool—AND one of the world’s largest crowd-funded civic projects. The two firms also collaborated on “The Worms,” a project that re-imagined the idea of the outdoor event tent for NYC’s StreetFest.

About the Lecture

Dong-Ping Wong is an architect and founding partner of Family, a New York-based design studio that specializes in building environments and pushing boundaries.
