As George Eliot wrote, “Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them.” Perhaps in no cultural tradition does this adage ring more true than with the Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos.
This year, Lawndale looks forward to assembling a new and diverse range of programs that engage the Día de los Muertos tradition and are reflective of a variety of artistic practices, including but not limited to film, literature, music, and dance.
