HCP's Collaborations is a semester-long program which began 13 years ago that provides high-school students that have an interest in photography as an art form with the tools to build an appreciation for what it takes to be a photographer, and helps to create awareness of different career opportunities in the field.  Through meetings and discussions with HCP staff and guest speakers, participating students learn about the artistic, curatorial and commercial aspects of the art world as well as photography's history and role in our daily lives. Collaborations culminates with an exhibition of the students' work in the HCP galleries, fostering teamwork, public speaking, and presentation skills.

For 2017, participating students may anticipate a monthly commitment of approximately 20 hours, which includes two-hour meeting every two weeks, and occasional field trips and assignments. The program is limited to 20 students, and scholarships are available to cover the $250 fee.
